The founders of Cara Amici Salon approached me with a clean slate: they had a name, a vision, and a location—but no visual identity or digital presence. From our early conversations, it became clear they wanted a brand that combined elegance with modern simplicity, avoiding anything overly trendy or cliché. I started by defining a visual language rooted in soft earth tones, refined typography, and a sense of personalized care. Once the brand identity was approved, I translated that system into a custom website experience that allowed users to explore services, meet the team, and book appointments with ease.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge was translating the salon's abstract values—friendship, trust, and self-care—into a visual identity that felt both timeless and distinct in a saturated beauty market. Additionally, the timeline for the project was extremely tight, requiring brand approval, content creation, and web development within a few weeks to align with the salon’s opening. I also had to consider the tech literacy of the salon's clientele, ensuring that the booking process was as intuitive and frictionless as possible across mobile and desktop devices.

The Solution

I began by developing logo concepts that blended elegance with friendliness. After a few iterations, we landed on a hand-lettered wordmark paired with a simple icon inspired by natural forms—subtle nods to hair strands and plant life. I then created a detailed brand guideline document, covering everything from color palette and typography to social media usage and tone of voice. For the website, I focused on clear hierarchy, generous white space, and responsive layouts that aligned with the brand’s refined aesthetic. I implemented a booking system that syncs easily with the salon’s existing appointment tool, keeping the client experience smooth from start to finish.

The Result

The entire brand—from logo to live website—was delivered ahead of schedule with minimal revisions from the client. The salon owners were thrilled with the outcome and began using the branding materials across their physical space and promotional items immediately. Since launch, the website has successfully handled all booking activity with zero usability complaints, and the brand identity has been consistently praised by clients and peers for its polished, cohesive look. While I’m proud of the outcome, I plan to enhance the site further by refining copy and adding seasonal content updates to keep users engaged long-term.
